March Luncheon

at Magnolia Point Golf and Country Club

     Newcomers of North Saint Johns (NNSJ) invites any resident of the St. Johns County area who has moved here recently, is experiencing a life change or just wants to become acquainted with some new friends.  We  offer a wide variety of activities for you to get acquainted and have fun, including lunch groups, wine socials, golf, Mah Jongg, holiday parties, day trips, and cultural events. 

     NNSJwill hold its March luncheon meetingon Tuesday, March 17, 11:00 am, at Magnolia Point Golf and Country Club, 3670 Clubhouse Drive, Green Cove Springs, 32043.  The luncheon will include salad, rolls and butter, Corned Beef and Cabbage or Vegetarian Quiche with Fresh Seasonal Fruit.  The dessert will be Angel Food Cake with strawberries.  All will be served with sweet and unsweetened tea, coffee, and filtered water.  A cash bar will be available, wine only.

     The program will feature Olivia deBelle Byrd Cooley from Panama City, author of two books, "Miss Hildreth Wore Brown, Anecdotes of a Southern Belle" and "Save My Place".  She will gladly sign your copy of these books as well as have copies for sale.  Ms. Byrd Cooley guarantees an afternoon of laughter and enjoyment as she shares stories and introduces you to some of the characters from her books.

     There will be drawings for raffles and 50/50.  Remember to bring your gently used books or audio books for the NNSJ Book Sale.

April Luncheon

     Newcomers of North Saint Johns (NNSJ) is pleased to announcewe will hold the April luncheon meetingat Publix Aprons Cooking School.  In order to accommodate our membership, we have scheduled two separate dates from which you may choose, Tuesday, April 21 and Wednesday, April 22.  The time for both datesis 11:00 am.  Please indicate the date you will attend on your registration form.

     The total cost for the luncheon is $30.00, including tax and tip. The cost includes wine served with each course.  All reservations must be received by April 11, no refunds.  Please join us!

     We will observe the chef prepare the following luncheon: Mixed Green Salad with Strawberry Champagne Vinaigrette, Coriander Spiced Pork Tenderloin with Mushroom and Asparagus Ragu, Lemon Tart with Whipped Cream Fraiche, and Mixed Berries.  Iced tea and water will be available.

Announce May Luncheon Meeting

at The Palencia Club

         Newcomers of North Saint Johns (NNSJ) invites any resident of the St. Johns County area who has moved here recently, is experiencing a life change or just wants to become acquainted with some new friends.  We  offer a wide variety of activities for you to get acquainted and have fun, including lunch groups, wine socials, golf, Mah Jongg, holiday parties, day trips, and cultural events.  If you are interested in a registration form for the upcoming luncheon, NNSJ membership information, or information about other upcoming activities, contact Sue Aird at sjaird@comcast.net. 

     NNSJ is pleased to announcethatwe will hold the final luncheon meeting of the 2014-2015 season on Tuesday, May 19, beginning at 11:00 am, at The Palencia Club, located at 600 Palencia Club Drive, St. Augustine, FL 32095.  Directions: From US 1 N, turn east into Palencia, directly across the street from International Golf Parkway.  Turn right at the clubhouse.  The parking lot is past the clubhouse in the back.      

     The luncheon will include rolls, butter, and a plated trio salad - chicken salad on greens, fruit salad and pasta salad.  The dessert will be strawberry cheesecake.  There will be water on the table and a coffee, tea and water center setup available.  There will be a cash bar.

     The program will feature a Rod Stewart Impersonator, Kenny Holliday, a most respected entertainer.  Kenny Holliday has delighted audiences in theaters and nightclubs worldwide.

     There will be drawings for raffles and 50/50.  Remember to bring your gently used books (no magazines please) for the NNSJ Book Sale.  Hard-covered books are sold for $1.00 each, audio books for $2.00, and paperbacks for $.50.  Unsold books will be donated.
